Comic Relief 2009
With The Scrotes
Friday the thirteenth seemed an ominous day for the Comic Relief event, but the generous customers at The Ropemakers were in for a special treat when The Scrotes performed there. The Scrotes are what could be termed a jamming band. Who turns up is never entirely certain until the night, but in all there were eight talented musicians, most in fancy dress, who played an excellent set of rock and blues covers. A jug was passed round collecting for the charity and over one hundred and thirty pounds was raised on the night. John and Geraldine at The Ropemakers would like to thank both the band and customers for their generosity for this cause. Musicians who played were Gareth Rousell, Lawrence Cummins, John Bourbon, John MacDonald, George Anderson, Danny Corrick, Mike Miller and guest vocalist Mutter Slater.
